CitySprint has developed a bespoke tracking technology using our leading-edge GPS enabled mobile data units, CityTrakkers, to create adhoc manifests of the items in a consignment. The barcode scanning capability allows customers to track and trace the individual items in a delivery consignment from collection to delivery; a key service for important items such as:

• Pathology and blood samples, finished blood products
• Important and high value parcels and files and tenders
• Retail home deliveries
• Media deliveries

The ScanTrak service provides a clear chain of custody, ensuring all collections arrive safely to their required destination. Every step in the process of the delivery can be time and date stamped.  Latitudes and longitudes are also recorded, completing the audit trail. In addition, as barcodes are unique, the risk of error in delivering the wrong item to the wrong place is eliminated. CitySprint can either provide bar coded stickers or can use the client's own barcodes to ensure continuity with the client's internal systems and to enable the collection and delivery stages managed by CitySprint, to be tied into the overall chain of custody of the item.

• A job will be allocated to one of our couriers and all collection and delivery information will be shown on their CityTrakker.
• The scanning facility on the CityTrakkers enables the courier to "scan in" each item via a unique barcode – provided either by the customer or by CitySprint.
• Courier arrival and collection times are recorded, as well as the manifest of all items.
• Upon delivery at a location, the courier will then "scan out" the specimens to provide Proof of Delivery and arrival time.
• Clients can log in via the ScanTrak website to track and trace the carriage and delivery of their consignments, and view all consignment numbers manifested for their job.

This unique "track and trace" service provided by CitySprint, will provide peace of mind to both the sender and the receiver of the goods and allow customers to concentrate on their core business.
