CitySprint carried out an urgent delivery of snow chains for the AA this week just in time before the heavy snow hit and caused chaos in the UK.

CitySprint collected the snow chains from the AA head office in Basingstoke and made over 1700 urgent special deliveries to the homes of AA Patrol Persons across the UK enabling them to continue with their every day job and attend to drivers unfortunate enough to be affected whilst travelling in the heavy snow.

Jan Labrooy, Manager Road Services Support at the AA commented "We were extremely impressed and pleased with the way that CitySprint was able to respond to our request and carry out such a large job at such short notice. All of the deliveries were made promptly despite the weather conditions and we really appreciated the  regular delivery updates we received as it enabled us to identify who had and hadn't received their snow chains. A big thank you to CitySprint - without their help it would have made life a lot more difficult for our patrol persons during this period of heavy snow"

The deliveries were made just in the nick of time as due to the treacherous weather, on the morning of the 1st December the AA had already attended around 11,300 breakdowns across the UK with calls peaking at around 2,500 every hour *

With the cold snap set to continue and more snow forecast, the snow chains will certainly come in useful for the AA this winter.
