CitySprint, the UK's largest privately owned SameDay distribution company, has made its third acquisition this year so far by acquiring Essex based courier company, Despatch UK.

CitySprint has been established in Brentwood, Essex since 1990 and the new acquisition will help further strengthen its presence in the region.

Brentwood based Despatch UK has been providing courier services within the Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire and Surrey regions for several years and serving both small local companies and large multi-nationals. From Friday 27th May 2011, Despatch UK will trade as CitySprint, operating from CitySprint's Brentwood ServiceCentre.

Mark Silvester, a Director of Despatch UK who will be working closely with CitySprint throughout the handover to ensure a smooth transition, explains:

Despatch UK customers will now benefit from a UK wide SameDay Courier service with improved collection and delivery times, made possible by CitySprint's unique national network of 31 ServiceCentres across the UK. In addition, they will benefit from CitySprint's continued investment in leading edge technologies and online quoting, booking and reporting facilities, which offer complete transparency".
