Scotblood is one of the main events in the blood transfusion calendar and was attended by 355 delegates representing medical, scientific, technical, blood collection and administrative staff from transfusion centres and hospitals throughout Scotland and beyond.

CitySprint, which provides professional healthcare services including the transportation of blood for emergency transfusion, exhibited at the two-day event and discussed its range of services and the launch of its new bespoke secure GPS track and trace solution – PathTrak.
 
Eunice Simmons, CitySprint's Sales Manager for the Scottish region who attended the event, commented "The Scotblood event was a huge success and gave us an excellent platform to promote our healthcare services. There were a number of our current clients there who were pleased to meet us in person – they usually see our couriers collecting and delivering, but don't always  have the time in their busy schedules to meet the rest of the team.

Our new bespoke secure GPS track and trace solution PathTrak was also very well received by delegates. Both existing and potential clients were impressed with the transparency and secure chain of custody it offers and most of all, they were impressed that there is no additional charge for the service".

CitySprint's Healthcare couriers are on-hand 24 hours a day to provide emergency ad-hoc collections for finished product bloods for emergency transfusion. Each of CitySprint's couriers are GMP trained and will ensure that collections are delivered directly and securely, in person, to the required theatre or hospital blood bank. They will also ensure that patient bloods are being properly shipped, in compliance with the Blood Quality and Safety Regulations and meet the requirements of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency's (MHRA) guidelines for the movement of finished product bloods.
